We now have ceramic MC available in 6″, 10″, 12″ sizes, 18 ” spin valves and are working on tooling/molds for additional sizes. The ceramic can operate at 4-5″ DP and achieve 95% removal of 2-3 microns in the 6″ size. The ceramic will handle temperatures to 1500F and out wears the cast iron, manganese by 50-60% Advantage – fewer cones, longer life cycle, more efficient. Disadvantage is the high DP takes more HP.
With temperatures above 180°F, we use 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12″ Multiclones that are cast manganese iron and we offer 3 different spin vanes to achieve best possible removal rates at 3-4″ Delta P. We fabricate 16, 20, and 24″ diameter using AR vanes and/or alternate metals to meet application.
Filter Technology has a 12″ diameter multi clone we use for ambient to 180°F. It uses a urethane spin vane and a 10 gauge cone that will remove 90% of particulate 10 micron or larger. The advantage of multiclones is, because there are several cones, the mass air flow can vary by 10 – 15% and have little effect on the efficiency of the multiclone.
Cyclone single body are sized for Delta P at some efficiency ranging from 90% removal of 50 micron and larger to 10 micron and larger. The weight of the product and speed of the air on the diameter are critical for the best efficiency and Delta P.
Single body units can be lined with AR, ferroalloy or ceramic, and we offer vortex breakers to minimize carry over. Materials of construction are carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and other exotic metals as applications require. We also have single cones with spin vanes for higher airflows as this option is much smaller than regular cyclones.
We also offer small, all urethane cyclones for air flows of 300 – 850 cfm that are lined. These are very effective for use on reclaim systems located on sandblast systems.
